alternative Guestbook ideas

On to the next decision: Whatever to do about the "guest book?" Both Austin and I don't know how we would use a book full of people's signatures, so we are talking about doing something different instead of a plain old book with blank pages and ivory satin cover.

Surprised?
(Everything else about our wedding is slightly off-traditional, so why wouldn't this be also!?)

Here are some ideas that I found through a few Google searches:

What about a poster?

Or a nice customized book?

Or how about notes put into a cool jar, that we figure out what to do with later?

Or my current favorite...a fingerprint tree!!

  1. always love the fingerprint tree...it's just fun. but it's always so nice to go back and read through a whole pile of notes of encouragement and praise just for you...kind of like valentine's day in elementary school. except this time they really mean it, haha

  2. I love the notes of advice - "what's one thing we should always remember during our marraige?" or something like that.

  3. I actually did a post on this! http://whiskeykittens.blogspot.com/2010/08/make-your-mark.html

I also loved the idea of the fingerprint tree but I was afraid it would get messy. Saw it here: http://www.100layercake.com/blog/archives/8844

We ultimately decided to buy a sweet screenprint and have people write messages around it. It's hanging in our living room and I love it! Books get hidden away but the picture is a constant reminder of our wedding and everyone who came.
